Join us for a Beth Moore Bible Study this Summer!

We will be going through a video-based series called Esther: It's Tough Being a Woman

"Join Beth in a very personal examination of this great story of threat and deliverance as she peels back the layers of history and shows how very contemporary and applicable the story of Esther is to our lives today.

If you've ever felt inadequate, threatened, or pushed into situations that seemed overpowering, this is the Bible study for you. Just as it was tough being a woman in Esther's day, it's tough today. This portion of God's Word contains treasures to aid us in our hurried, harried, and pressured lives."

Meets at Kelly Nishi’s house—1138 Mircos Street, Erie—on Thursday nights from 7pm-9pm

This is a nine-week study that will run from June 6th through August 8th (we will not meet on July 4th)

For more information, contact Kelly at 303-832-3628 or Kelly.Nishi@gmail.com

Member workbooks are optional, but recommended. Books are available here.

MOPS Meeting Reminder - 4/23/2013

Hi Mamas!  After a very snowy April, definitely looking forward to seeing everyone Tuesday.  Our meeting is called 'Letting Go of Perfectionism' and our speaker is Rebecca Stone.  I know I personally hold myself to a ridiculously high standard which only leads to angst and guilt.  June Cleaver complex maybe?

FOOD: Debbie and Angie's tables

Hope to see you guys Tuesday!

April Playdate - 4/16/2013

Hey Girls!
So.... we had planned on meeting at the zoo this Tuesday, but with a forecasted high of 36 degrees, probably not the best idea.  Instead, we are going to meet at Monkey Business in Westminster at 10:00.  http://westminster.monkeybizness.com/

There is a deal on Living Social right now for a 5 punch pass for $19- http://www.livingsocial.com/deals/586808-five-visit-punch-card. We are planning on going together as a group to split the cost but we need a head count of how many will be there.  Let your DGL know if you are able to come.  Hope you can all come!

Hi Ladies,
Since we are expecting quite a bit of snow tonight into tomorrow, we've decided to cancel tomorrow's meeting.  Hope you guys have a nice quiet morning with your kiddos and hopefully we will return to spring-like weather for next week's trip to the zoo.  Take care!

Outreach Day: Lifesavers

Our “Lifesavers” Outreach Day is coming! At our next meeting on April 9, we will be collecting toiletries and organizing them into Welcome Kits for the Emergency Family Assistance Association (www.efaa.org).

These kits will be distributed to single and 2-parent families with children who seek temporary housing at one of 3 shelters within Boulder County. Families are allowed to stay in the shelter for up to two months while they work with volunteers to get their finances in order. When I spoke to a representative at efaa last week, she mentioned that there is always a steady stream of families seeking this temporary assistance, and the Welcome Kits are very much appreciated!

Full sizes of the following items are requested:

  • Shampoo / conditioner
  • Deodorant
  • Soap
  • Toothbrush / toothpaste
  • Razor
  • Lotion
Child-specific items are also requested:

  • Shampoo / conditioner
  • Detangler
  • Soap
  • Lotion
  • Comb / hair ties
If you want to bring in a completed kit, great! If you have lots of one item to bring in (e.g., a Costco sized package of disposable razors), that’s great too! And, if you prefer to make a Welcome Kit with child-specific items, that would be awesome.

We will also work on a craft at our MOPS meeting. We will be creating a “deck” of motivational cards. I will have a lot of pre-printed motivational quotes for you to cut out, and I will also have some blank cards. So, if you have a favorite quote or Bible passage to share, please bring it with you!

See you on Tuesday!
